| Our Sexual Abuse Prevention Program |
Our program was developed as an aggressive plan for the prevention of the sexual abuse of our children.
It is our goal to make an impressive positive impact on sexual abuse in south central Iowa by raising
awareness, giving those in the child/youth field prevention strategies they can use in their settings,
educating parents in their role in prevention and giving them resources they can use and teaching
children ways to keep their bodies safe.
Our Sexual Abuse Prevention Program includes the following components:

 | Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development - This program is designed to help adults - both | |
| professionals and the lay public - discover how their everyday interactions can help save a child from the trauma of sexual abuse. This program is offered free of charge to participants. |
| Care For Kids - This training teaches early childhood professionals - child care providers, | |
| preschool and kindergarten teachers and parent educators - about the Care For Kids Curriculum, why it is needed in the early childhood setting and how to utilize the flexible curriculum in their program. The training is provided free of charge to participants. The Care For Kids kit, that includes the equipment and materials necessary to use the curriculum, is purchased either by the participant or with additional funding sources. |
| Take Charge of Your Body - This program encompasses a wide range of curricula all designed to | |
| help children and youth recognize, resist and report inappropriate or sexually abusive touch. The program uses discussion, plays, videos and hands on activities to teach the basics of self-protection in an age-appropriate way in the familiar classroom setting. The program is offered free of charge for every child in our service area in preschool through 12th grade. |
| Take Charge of Your Body Parent Talk - This session is intended to provide information to | |
| parents of children who will be involved in the Take Charge of Your Body program. Parents have a chance to ask questions and learn why the program is needed in South Central Iowa, how the program is delivered and what they as parents can do to enhance the lessons their children have been taught. This session is provided free of charge to participants. |
